A very special shout-out goes to Bob and Brent for making Paypal donations! You guys just paid for the 2012 DNS registration for this site. Thank you very much!

I've uploaded a Nebulon-B Frigate to the Star Wars: Fleet Battles page. It was based mostly on some fan art that I found on the Internet... it wasn't until after the model was complete that I realized it wasn't "movie accurate". Oh well - I'm not going to change it now.
I still need to go back and re-size the Bulk Freighter, Mobquet Freighter and Trade Federation Lander... since I split up the models into "Fighter Scale" and "Fleet Battles" pages, they just look way too big.

I've also uploaded a preview picture on the FAQ page showing some of my Works-in-progress. However, I'm sad to say it may be a while before those models are done... my job is sending me on a 3-and-a-half-month trip, and I won't have access to all my software for the duration. On the plus side, I may be able to work on some of the other content I've been meaning to focus more on (house rules and articles).

I can't believe you people blew through my monthly bandwidth before the month was half over. I swear - I'm hitting that cap earlier and earlier. I was able to compress some of the larger files a bit, so I hope that'll help. I still have some more compression I could do, if I have to. If that doesn't work, then I'm going to have a difficult decision to make - remove some content, go back to using frames, move some of the content to a different host or (shudder) pay my primary host to increase my monthly bandwidth. I would rather not move hosts, as I really, really like all the fancy analysis tools that DotEasy offers, but I also really, really like not paying for anything other than the DNS registraion.

Anyhoo, you'll find a new version of the sci-fi crates on the Star Wars Character Scale page. The old crate models from 2004 have been removed. Of course, the new file is about 10 times the size of the old one, so that's not really going to help my bandwidth problem, but I REALLY don't like my older models.

I'm posting something new today... a series of 2-D tokens in the Star Wars Fleet Battles page. "More boring 2-D tokens," you ask? Well, not quite - these tokens are actually two pieces that slide into each other so you can keep track of how many fighters are left in a squadron.

You may also notice a splash of color on the home page. I was getting so sick and tired of the old doodle that I had to do something to replace it. I'm not really happy with the current version either, but at least I have shoes on this time.

  December 31

I added some 3-D Treadwell droids to the Star Wars character scale page.

  December 25

I found out that the host for my primary site (the one that goes down every month like clockwork because I keep blowing my monthly bandwidth) has a redirect tool, allowing me to temporarily send people over to my mirror site. YAY - if I can just remember to turn that on whenever I start reaching my quota limit, and then turn it off at the beginning of each month, then you guys won't have to bookmark 2 different URLs!

That other model I promised last week (well, week and a half) is up - you can find it in the 3-D Star Wars character-scale section.
I also moved the new models to the top of the page, so you can just ignore the old ones at the bottom.
Finally, a bunch of broken links on that page were corrected, so they should all be working now.

  December 15

Ho, Ho, Ho, and all that.

I have 2 new models done... but I'm only posting one of them. The other one requires a piece to be printed onto a transparancy, and those things are getting REALLY hard to find these days. I tried to have it printed at the local office supply store, but they were having problems with their machine (or the person operating it... I'm not sure which).

Anyway, the model that I am posting is a newer version of the Power Droid, and you can find it in the Star Wars Character-scale section. The old Power Droid model from 2004 has been removed... let us never again speak of it.

  November 19

Holy moly - I blew through my monthly bandwidth before even half the month was over. Either you guys REALLY like Robotech minis, or else I seriously underestimated the impact of the new site design (it's prettier, but not as efficient). I'll have to figure something out - I'm posting this, and most of you won't even be able to see it until December. For those of you who are getting frustrated with www.momirfarooq.com constantly going down, I do have a mirror at http://momirfarooq.webng.com. It runs a bit slower, but in some ways it's more reliable.

For my birthday, Tracy took me to Fantasy of Flight (I HIGHLY recommend checking them out, if you're in the Tampa / Orlando region) to fly an old War War II bi-plane trainer. They take you up, show you how to fly, hand you the stick, and then they take you back down after you've had your fun. It was great... and VERY different from playing a flight sim!

I've got some updates for you on the Star Wars Character-scale site:
  • A new 3D IG-88 mini (he's a pain in the butt to put together, but it looks very cool when you're done).
  • A 3D Death Star Control Console (please DO NOT e-mail me to tell me how it's not "movie-accurate"; I KNOW it looks different from the movie, I'm not a big fan of the movie version).
  • An updated set of Star Wars 2D tokens (they're pretty much the same as the old version, but I spruced them up a little bit and cut the file size down to about a quarter of what it originally was).

  November 4

Go to the Robotech page to download a Spartan destroid!
I also fixed a bunch of typos in the World of Darkness material.

  October 10

I added an alternative Morality / Humanity chart to the World of Darkness page. It's something I've been kicking around for a while now, but I finally decided to post it.
